How to help in the search for your missing or stolen horse... We've had a lot of questions about what we've done to try and find Nic. I'd like to offer up this page to answer those questions, as well as aid others in their own searches. Please contact us if you feel we've left any stone unturned. We'd love to hear from you. What we've done so far:
- Created this website to tell Nic's story and offer a place for people to send tips and leads
- Contaced 4-H groups in Michigan
- Contacted large 4-H sponsors in the area (including Michigan State University)
- Found various rescues across the states and contacted them asking for a link to our story as well as their help in getting the word out to their members
- Listed Nic with Stolen Horse International/Net Posse
- Placed ads with newspapers in the area we believe Nic to be
- Joined banner exchange programs with other horse sites
- Posted on horse (and Michigan) related forums in Yahoo and MSN
- Compiled a list of list of Michigan stables, barns and riding facilities that might know of Nic and have started contacting them via e-mail, phone and snail mail
- Contacted YMCA (and other) camps in Michigan
- Currently attempting to look for horse suppliers that supply camps and program in the Michigan area
- Will be contacting vets and farriers in the area to see if they have a client that matches Nic's description
- Created flyers to distribute to local feed stores, tack stores and other horse-related areas and places of high traffic
- Placed internet ads on various horse classifieds sites
Would you like to be directly involved in the search for Nic? We need volunteers to make phone calls, send letters, post flyers, etc. If you're interested (or even think you might be), please take a moment to contact us (using the link below) . We've also created a page where you can easily print out the current version of our flyer to post at local feed stores, tack shops, or anywhere you feel there's a lot of traffic. We appreciate every little thing. Thank you.
